Evony Strategy Game
The Online Game Evony is more of a strategy game than a first person shooter or even a role playing game. In an RPG you take on a character and walk around doing quests and stuff like that. Wear armour, equip swords, find special trinkets or amulets to wear, that sort of thing. There is none of that in Evony. Evony is more of a strategy game as you control multiple castles, and manage troop training. Resource management is a massive part of the Evony Game, you need food to feed your troops at home, or to feed them on a trip to somewhere else, ether if they are reinforcing one of your other cities or if they're attacking someone elses castle. Wood, stone and iron are needed to build or upgrade your buildings, or to train troops and wall emplacements like traps and abatis. Gold is a major resource. It is gained through taxes. With gold you can employ more heroes, pay your heroes salary. You can trade resources if you have built an evony marketplace, trading gold for wood, stone, food, or iron.

Online Game Players are still playing Evony Online. When it first came out just over a month ago, the MMORPG Evony Free Forever was a great concept. It was a Free To Play Browser Based game. The graphics were not over the top, but were definately nice. The user interface was easy to understand once the online game player had gone through the simple startup quests. The biggest drawcard of Evony was the fact that there were thousands of other players playing at the same time all around the world. With an average of 100,000 players on each servers and the Evony developers at UMGE constantly putting on more and more servers to cope with the demand and to fight the evil lag monster. Evony now has 32 servers! 20 English servers and 12 world servers.
After playing the game for a month, with many changes by the Evony developers to try and ballance the game a bit more and to iron out the kinks and bugs, Evony has kept its flair for online game play. Players are still playing the game religously, devoting their smoke breaks, their lunch breaks, and many hours into the night to develop their Evony castles and armies.
With the possibility of Evony players to join an Evony Alliance of up to 100 people, the game takes on new meaning and once you've realised you're not alone, have reinforcements and will be asked to reinforce other players the game takes on a new flavour. Players will start attacking NPCs and even other players more agressively and more actively as they know that help is just a short message in their Evony Alliance window away.

Travia is dead
Travia is a Browser Based Massively Multiplayer Online Real Time Strategy Game with over 1 million players. Or should we say WAS. Evony has come onto the scene and smashed the records for quickest uptake for a browser based game, with over 1 million players in less than a month. This is not unheardof in the MMO games as World of Warcraft did something similar when it first came out, and is still the most popular game of all time with over 12 million monthly subscribers.
Other games have tried to take over from WoW, games like Age of Conan and Lord of the Rings Online, and now Warhammer Online too.
Where WoW is holding its players against the onslaught of similar Online Games, Travia is dieing because Evony is such a better game!
How much longer will Travia last?
What will take over after Evony?

mmorpgl
MMORPGL.com is a new website dedicated to the Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Games. It has reviews on six of the biggest Online Games at the moment, including the record breakng World of Warcraft and others.
MMOs come in many different formats, from the Free Browser based games like the new Evony Free Forever to games that need to be bought from the local computer game shop with a one off fee, to a monthly subscription based.
The biggest suprisingly is monthly based subscription WoW. But new comers that are browser based and can be played anywhere like Evony and Legend of the Green Dragon are becoming well known, and gamers are flocking to them.
